Volunteer for Development (V4D) is a non-profit organization registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 to promote community guided and volunteer driven development of the poor and marginalized section of the society with the rights based approach. Headquartered in New Delhi, India, V4D works towards improving the quality of life of the underserved population through various program interventions in the areas of health, education, livelihood, natural resource management, women and child development, micro finance and vocational training. V4D encourages people to engage in volunteer activity for social development.
V4D’s volunteer programs are specially designed to utilize the volunteer’s potentialities, interests and cross-cultural skills to benefit the local communities. We support the volunteers in contributing their best efforts towards the achievement of their personal as well as program goals.

Vision & Mission

Volunteerism is an effective activity of engaging people in meeting challenges of development. We believe that volunteerism creates participation opportunities and benefits both the volunteer and the society at large by building faith, reciprocity and reliance among people.
Our mission is the holistic development of the underserved people and societies in countries where there is a need through promotion of volunteerism. We aim to bring together the right people to the right opportunity by providing purposeful, affordable and reliable volunteering options to all.

Objectives
|
|
To promote community guided and volunteer driven development of the poor and marginalized section of the society with the rights based approach
To improve the quality of life of underserved population through various program/projects in the field of health, education, livelihood, natural resource management, women and child development, micro finance, vocational training and any such program that aims to improve their overall condition by encouraging people to engage in volunteer activity for social development and community care fields
To spread awareness for promoting volunteerism for social development activities, undertake research, training and other activities to identify and enlist volunteers for local concerns
To work on social and gender equality as well as upliftment of socially and economically disadvantaged groups like dalits, tribals, unorganized workers, women and children
To provide training and other capacity building inputs to Non Government Organisations /Community Based Organisations and People’s organizations
To promote the most affordable and exciting volunteer programs for the empowerment of marginalized community
To promote volunteerism by associating the people with the opportunity to provide meaningful, affordable and reliable volunteering options to everyone
To promote the volunteerism by exchanging volunteers from India as well as abroad and place the international volunteers with other development organizations to provide them with best resources
