Q. Why volunteer?
A. The desire to serve fellow human beings is the main reason for some. For others it is a good way of learning new skills. The fact is that any reason that encourages you to work as a volunteer is worthwhile. Volunteering in India gives you the chance to travel, meet new people, interact with new cultures and face development challenges and diverse experiences in life.
Q. What do I need to qualify for a volunteer program?
A. No special academic qualification or skill is required to work as a volunteer. All you need is the willingness and enthusiasm to work for the betterment of your fellow human beings.
V4D studies your resume for providing you with a volunteering opportunity suitable to your interests, skills, and experiences and learning. One requisite is that you should be medically fit and healthy while traveling to India for volunteering. Make sure you carry your medicines or necessary travel vaccinations before your departure.
Q. How long do most people volunteer?
A. Most people volunteer for duration of 3-10 weeks.
Q. How exactly does the placement process function? Do I choose my own volunteering area?
A. Getting placed is simple.

Please fill up an online Volunteer Application Form (http://www.microinfoconsultants.com/pages/Register.aspx) with your basic details and area of interest. We would get back to you in 24-48 working hours and ask you to provide further details in the form of Volunteer Registration Form.
Based on the information provided b you and our profile assessment we will create a customized volunteer experience for you.
You will then be required to pay the Registration Fee of $200 USD for which you will receive an acknowledgement.
We will develop your volunteering opportunity only after receiving the Registration Fee. We charge an upfront fee to encourage only serious applicants to apply. The registration fee amount is non-refundable.
Q. How do I pay the Registration Fees?
A. The Registration Fee will have to be paid via cheque in the name of Volunteer for Development and sent to the V4D contact address given below:

Q. Where does the Program Fee include?
A. Your Program Fee supports the following:
· Profile Assessment based on your educational qualifications, skills and work experience Project Identification in accordance to your profile and preference Accommodation – clean, comfortable, hygienic and safe
· Food – all meals mainly in local Indian cuisine Guidance and Supervision by qualified support staff
· Transfers from/to Airport
· Field visits
· Program Start up, Development and Management
· Volunteer Coordination
· Outreach / Placement / Assistance
· Orientation / Induction
Q. When and how do I pay the program fee?
A. You will have to pay the program fee on the day of your arrival to the Project Coordinator of V4D in any currency including US$ or the equivalent in GB Pounds, Euros or Indian Rupees cash.
Q. How are the accommodation/ living arrangements?
A. The accommodation which is covered in the program fee is decent with basic facilities like Bed, Table, Cooler/Fan and Security. V4D ensures that the volunteers are provided clean, neat and hygienic accommodations. The accommodation in rural locations will be at the premises of the host organization.
Q. Can I come with friends or with my spouse? A. Yes, couples and groups are invited. But it should be noted that V4D does not guarantee to be able to provide private accommodation for couples in rural areas. Elder children who are independent will be considered on a case by case basis. Q. I cannot speak English. Can I become a volunteer?
A. Yes, certainly. Speaking English or any foreign language is not necessarily important. While working as a volunteer it will be better if you speak to the local people in Hindi.
V4D further provides you proper training on Hindi speaking to the minimum level of daily communication. This is enough to get through your regular transactions. You will also be given provided guidance about the local lifestyle, tradition and culture. However, a minimum understanding level of English language is required to communicate with the staff of V4D.
Q. What support and guidance can I expect?
A. V4D takes every measure to make your volunteer project gratifying, meaningful and memorable. During your volunteer program you will work with our support staff that is very much familiar with local people and village environment. They will give you every information and guidance wherever necessary. Moreover, V4D management will be available to extend any additional support to you.
